headrat if you do not mind.

I believe this the same project I told some of the members about, only a different contact. Fluor is the biggie on this job.

When I was familiar with this project, it was a man camp ( dry ) with I am not sure but i believe 6 on 2 off, it is very close to Japan and Russia.

The biggie on that project was.is Fluor.

They have such a layer of people it is hard to get to the right person, I wish I knew who it was I would give it out, sadly I do not.

Bonton, can find out, if she plays her cards right.

The other biggie bordering Russia, is the one on the Caspean sea. It is also a man/woman, camp. Yes they have both. On that site if yopu know a man named Jim edwards an ol daniels hand still around after fluor took over he is on that site at this time. :blahslap

HeadRat lead guy, I do not mean lead in your pants, I mean like leed out in front guy, you may try him to see if we can get more info. jim.edwards@fluor.com.

Isn't that the job where they want people with oil and gas experience?
Even though I presently work for Fluor, they have basicly told us that to work for them somewhere else we would have to apply like anyone else. Only the very top management will stay with Fluor. I'm afraid I don't have that kind of suck-tion.

I worked for Zachry on their Phnom Penh, Cambodia embassy project, they also have the Beijing, China, Nicaragua, and Ecuador embassies, but are saying that all are delayed in getting started, with the start date being April for Nicaragua.

I did the telecom and data, inside/outside cabling (first project for me on this type of international work), enjoyed the experience, but found many things frustrating, such people dragging up and leaving the project in a bind.

I would like to do more of this but have been hitting walls trying to get in. In fact one guy who went over to help, drug up after only three months, including going home after two weeks on the job, never been away from home, sends me an email saying he got a job working in Africa on a project.

I'm with Avaya now, can't even get on with the telephone installation people because I don't have the experience (35 years with the Bell System/AT&T/Lucent/NEC/Avaya).

If you have a clearance you should be able to get on to one of the projects how many contractors have you contacted. I have been doing this for 14 years and if you have 35 years experience I find it hard to believe you can't get hired. Hang in there it will happen.

One of the supervisors gave my email/resume to one company who does the installs for the embassies, but they are looking for Nortel trained techs.

I worked on Kwajalein for over a year, then took a tour with Zachry, but this was their first try at doing the cabling themselves instead of contracting it out, several guys drug up before I arrived and then one who was there when I got there drug up a few months later, with the one who was there three months and one guy who was only there a month, leaving just another guy and me to finish it all, so I think that soured Zachry on self performing.

I turned down one project in Kosovo because of something I felt violated the confidentality of my offer.

I keep looking, but it is extremely difficult in breaking in with the telephone groups, even with my experience, background and clearance.
