Any of our folks there ?

If so I hope you are OK !

If possible send us some up to date information please.:blahslap

Those poor ass people down there have had hell for years now this, seems to be unfair. The rulers they have had seems to disregard any hard ships faced by their own people.:wtf All the folks there are not bad, some are just trying to live and get along as best they can.

I realize it is bad to work there, but in this case I would drag my old ass down there to help as best I could. Human life is precious we need to protect it as best we can.

Take care

My brother has been on the ground since Sunday in Haiti, and he said it reminds him of Saigon...as in leaving Saigon. Total chaos.
I bet there are too many assholes, too many people with weapons, and too many self important wanna be movers and shakers running around there right now for any type of constructioin to be going on. I heard from another friend on the ground that the US compound is holding together fairly well.

I know your right about the confushion, & chaos, young native men. running around with guns, robbing, looting, raping, killing.

The bros on site may condem me for saying it but - -to me those bastards are less then human. Here we are doing our best to help them, and they steal the aid and sell it back to their own people.

Is your brother military? I see on the news our guys working hard to help, and have to hold the young studs back, so the young children and women can be fed - of course when they walk away - they may still be beaten and the food stolen. I have seen this type of sh-- happen all over the world.

Those bastards should have a pick/schovel/ & wheel barrow, substitued for the guns and knifes. :wtf I have been in situations where you had to bat/hit, & shove, 10&12 yrs olds away, are they would over run you!:sport002:

I see on the ground now, so many people there for a free trip, and to get their photo on the TV & in print, that makes it even harder to help. Once the new wears off and those caractors leave.then we can get down to really helping the people in need. You remember the dam fiasco while trying to get the embassy built. It will be worse after this!!!

Take care.

He is with the guys we all work for on these projects, he's a highly decorated Marine Corp Veteran, former Police Officer, 2 degree college grad...he's a walking, talking jolly green giant mo-fo, 10 ft. tall and bullet proof. He is my baby bro and I worry, because the guy that crosses his path is a sorry SOB...:cheers
--Anybody that does not have to do this for a living, and uses their heads instead of their backs...more power to them. Yes I am very proud.

Any word on who has the contract? Some company will be going if only for Tent City!

From what I understand, all of the State Dept. buildings are ok. What contract are you refering to? Possible infrastructure projects? I think it may be too soon for something like that...

I missed it and you edited it out!!

HR, we need to have a new forum.
A forum of typing with one hand and beer in the other.
You erase all the identifiers and we all just laugh at the F-ups and stupid stuff that proceeds from the mouths of us man-monkeys when we are on the juice or extremely exhausted/malarial feverish/dehydrated/cross-eyed stupid mad at our lawyer, CPA, current wife, ex-wife, kids, WHATEVER!
This could be some seriously funny stuff if you go back through the threads, and I have. I have contributed my share of stupid too. All the rats could suggest a snippet and then you, mighty cheese sniffer, could sanitize it and make it a weekly or monthly addition to the humorless humor section. NO body adds anything funny much anyway and this could create some new interest in the site if you have a small flag about it in the banner for all visitors and newbies to see. The latest foot in mouth so to speak.

What think ye rats?

From what I've heard, there are a LOT of "chiefs" there for sure.

That was to be posted elsewhere. Sorry for making such a serious topic seem disjointed. My post had nothing to do with the Haiti post. I don't think HR's post did either.
HR, was there some kind of glitch? I did not post it in this thread.

Again, my apologies.
