A big western howdy from the great state of New Mexico! I would like to hear from someone working as a structural fitter/welder overseas. I,ve got ten years experience and am an honorably discharged veteran. Spent alot of time on the KBR website, but I guess they are not interested. Got burned by a company called Marcor services International (Foreign employment united express). They said they could put my resume on the right desk at the right time, but just took my money and did nothing- but at least I,m not the only dumbass out there. The Better business Beureau Just gave them an "F" rating due to unresolved complaints. Won't do that again. Just would like some advice from someone who is for real no bullshit making a good living working overseas Thanks

We will find a fit for you.
Welcome square.
Know this from the start. RPI is a site, the ONLY site, by and for international workers.
This is not a job board or a site for headhunters. This is not the place for interviews or letigious questions.
RPI is the only site on the web that gives INSTANT! access to hundreds of overseas old hands, 95% of which are WORKING ON THE PROJECT SITES worldwide!!
You have the opportunity to read old posts to get some background about jobs, locations and taxes, benefits and insurance, and some recipes for great Texas chili (i'll include mine shortly rats, give me a break!)
You will be attacked and helped, you will have a shoulder to cry on, you will have the entire Rat Pack as a family of sorts. We are THERE, and if anyone hears of, or smells a job, WE POST IT HERE FOR FREE!!!!
FREE I TELL YOU!!
Thats right. Free. We on this site expect the same from you though......you hear of, or KNOW a company that is hiring, you POST it here. Our company contacts section is second to none, and allows YOU, my friend, to access the co. Reps. directly! The email addresses of 100's of company contacts are here. Info about taxes and contracts are tentative so RPI retains tax and admin. rats to handle this sort of thing.
RPI does cost something though.
You WILL PAY an annual subscription, much as you do National Geographic.
The difference is that with National Geographic you LOOK at the pictures.
Here at RPI, you get to sit down with a cup of coffee and talk to the Head Rat about your account or his opinion about the recent hijacking of a cheese freighter off the coast of Somaliland.(shame that)
You can put in a question about some aspect of living overseas and The Wild Rover will answer you personaly.
If you have a thought about, or a question concerning govt. contracts or OBO, then JUSTUS is your man.
MexFish has "been and did", as they say. He has testified before house committees concerning the plight of American workers who have had their jobs stolen by illegals. He will scald you if you are not careful, as he speaks his mind. He has defended me on occasion, which underscores his arbitrary nature=:~)
PainterMike has traveled and finished so many problem projects that he has become a problem unto himself! (just kidding P.M.)
Patriot through and through.
Thicken your skin and be prepared to listen to reason. These men are workers, not the mamby pamby sort you speak with at the "head" office.
Read and listen first before you engage at the liberal councilor member level.
If you search the forums under "liberal council members", you may have a hard time finding that catagory. Thats because it does not exist. Keep that in mind.
SO,
in the immortal words of Shakespeare,
"Cry havoc and let fly the dogs of war"
You are welcome here as you will never be on any other site. The folks here are friendly and mean, just depends on the day of the week and who got killed yesterday. Oh, and wether they can import Corona!

You came to the right folks - many years of international work experience here. We do have a part of our site, forum for companys contacts - confirmed jobs etc . You will get the most aid here by coming inside. Talk of work by workers from all over the world, right here to help you. You may catch a little hell for your first little while, just grin and bear it.
Take care

New to the site. Union trained Carpenter since 1980, High/Mid rise commercial and residential framing. Been out of construction for a few years, still "doin it" but not for $$$. Just started looking for overseas job. No family or
ties to worry about. Not sure where to start. Any help, advice , etc...
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
