Navigating posts

I've always had trouble navigating the post on this site. What's the best way to view unread posts? When I first come on line, the main page will link me to unread posts since my last visit; however, I can't find a good way to refresh it after after I done with a thread. Quick links is only good for "today's posts" - not "Unread posts."

I do it is that after I finish reading in a thread, I click on main homepage at the top of the screen. This refreshes with any new posts since you've been gone in a thread.

I usually just click on the 'Quick Links' tab in the toolbar underneath the logo at the top of the page and under the 'Quick Links' tab it says 'Today's Posts' and it shows me all new posts and if I've already read them or not.
