Hey guys, I got an e-mail response from ADR- Recruiter's and they asked two questions. Does anyone have any experience with this recruiting firm? I'm not sure how to answer them because I'm New to your Job Mrkt. But I know yall help eachother out like a brotherhood...... I need help on answering these two questions... Please advise your thoughts. I don't think I care where I go as long as it will help get me the clarence process started. That has been the biggest issues I've had. (ie.. what is GCC?)

I would ask all the questions you can. Hourly or salary rate. How many hours a week required to work? Overtime? Living conditions? Flights, coach or business class. Employee or 1099? Insurance, excess baggage? Project length? Job duties? Sometimes they hire guys, and you have to work outside of your trade...I am not a carpenter, nor will I claim to be, much less hang drywall, get it? Full per diem?
Call them, do not be afraid. The only stupid question is the one you do not ask. If they do not answer your questions professionally, walk away. Get it all in the contract. Do not sign if you are not sure.I believe GCC stands for Gulf Coast Countries, meaning the Persian Gulf in the Middle East. Correct me if I am wrong.
If you want, I will look over your contract to help in any way I can, to point out the matters that may interest you. I have a job, so I will not steal yours.:cheers

ADR is a UK company and I've dealt with them before...very unsuccessfully. They primarily recruit for Middle East locations and the offers are low-ball. Example...I was offered a total package of $1800/month (yes, MONTH) for a management job in UAE in March of '08. I responded back with some dollar figures of what would be expected in the States for the same position, which is way less than it would take for me to work in UAE (very expensive place).

Be careful. Since they are a UK company, they always say "GCC salaries are tax-free" or similar wording. For US citizens, we have to meet certain qualifications; even meeting these, only the first $91,400 (for 2009) is deductible. The don't take US taxes out on you and it's not a 1099 contract since they are not a US company--so ALL tax liability will be on you.

Rover has GCC pretty close. It's actually Gulf Cooperative Council, although most people, myself included, just say "Gulf Coast Countries". It includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. All SUPER places to work--said with much sarcasm.

If you're new to this, please take up Rover's offer to look over the contract...I can't think of anyone I'd rather have looking at one of my contracts than him.

Good luck. Let us know if it's another low-ball offer so we can all be forewarned.

Hey Justus, what do you mean about the first 91,400? Has that gone up from the first 80 something last year? Thanks.

Hey GT. Yep, it's $91,400 this year (http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/article/0,,id=177960,00.html), up from $87,600 last year.
