hope you have a target price and make some stone.
Hey Stockrat, I saw this one come up on a nasdaq volume scan but have no idea what it is. Capstone turbine corp. CPST
I pulled it up and in the last few weeks it has gone from a lazy buck and a half to an over active 5.5 a share with heavy trading.
Can you take a look at it on your charts and opine a bit on it.
This is cool,
Thanks

Hey Natch,
I don't know what kind of red flag your volume scan threw up, but holy crap, that thing has been going nuts.
I wish you would have brought this one in when you probably got the flag several weeks ago.
CPST gave the prettiest buy long signal on my weekly chart that I've seen in a while. It showed a clear MA cross by giving a closing price above it's MA's. (moving averages) Giving us a clear 'buy signal of the century' at end of week 7/3/05 at 1.63 a share. It was accompanied by a volume surge, which gave it momentum, and has yet to give any indication of a get out of trade signal. At the time of this post it is trading at 5.50 a share. It ran so fast up to and over 5.5 during August that it is too far from it's MA's to make a meaningful assesment. Usually when a stock's price get's that far ahead of the MAs it will either wait for the MAs to catch up or it will pull back to meet them. I look for it to either take a rest or maybe pull back down some, so if you're looking to go long this one, I'd watch it a while first. It's weekly support which is clear down at 3.85 and rising fast, will most likely meet the fallling price just below five bucks, or there abouts. That would give a MA support as well as round number support of 5 dollars to bounce off of. That's when we would look at the daily chart for a long signal off that support to buy long. This stock is moving well, so I may want to play a few shares of it myself. I have put CPST on my watch list, so will try to keep you posted as to any new signals it may give us.

Natch,
Damn! Is right.
I've been watching for some kind of bouce off of the support, but didn't get one.
I had mentioned that I thought it should be watched a while before any long position and that it's price would either hang and wait on it's MAs to catch up, or it would pull back to meet the rising support, where we would look for a bounce. No bounce yet and it's not looking good for a long. This stock has done nothing but pull back hard and fell on through it's initial daily support, so watching for any support on the weekly MA which is still rising, now at 4.10. Of course it will take a month or so to see what happens with that. I'll try to keep ya posted.
CPST had run up hard and fast and was too far ahead of it's MAs to get a good look at it. It's doing pretty much as predicted, but I thought there would be, at least, a little bounce, even though the Nasdaq has been weak.
