If you purchased $1,000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago you would have $49.00 left.:AR15 With Enron, you would have had $16.00 left of the original $1,000.00. :moon With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.:fauches: But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have $214.00 cash. :rockwoot: Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. It's called the 401-Keg.:cheers A recent study found the average American walks about 900 miles a year. Another study found Americans drink, on the average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year. That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon. Makes You Proud To Be An American! :rockwoot:

Screw AIG......why not do it this way?????
Hi Folks I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafied U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18and up...So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in
their pocket. A husband and wife have $595,000.00. What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family? Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved. Repay college loans, what a great boost to new grads Put away money for college – it'll be there Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs. Buy a new car – create jobs Invest in the market – capital drives growth Pay for your parent's medical insurance – health care improves Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces. If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ('vote buy' ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President. If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bailout every adult U S Citizen 18+! As for AIG – liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up. Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't. Sure it's a crazy idea that can 'never work. But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! How do you spell Economic Boom? I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the$85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses in Washington DC. And remember, The Family plan only really costs $59.5Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam. Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.
PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it's either good for a laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use $85Billion!!

The repercussion's of our money failures is felt world wide. Did you guys hear during the last debate - we ow China several billion dollars. I have not heard the amount we ow Japan - but it must be a lot. I do think the limit of ceo pay and bonus's is a good idea, seeing as they will be dealing with my tax money! When a board of directors vote a 20million parachute for a person and a few days later the bottom drops out of the stock - that should be fraud - plain ol stealling. It has been quite plain for some time this was coming - our 2 wars and the debts to operate them - on top of the bogus home loans - with the repossing of homes. It does not take a rocket man, to see trouble is coming..!! Is it a big enough crisis for our president to step down and allow a new man in oval office - are will congress allow him to stay in power until the problem is corrected?????

Well, this is an open discussion, so I will vent here, because Head-rat said it was ok...so here I go.
The debt owed to China from the current administration, both parties bearing responsibility, is $500 Billion. That's also beside the fact we now owe the EU $320 Billion.
We used to make stuff in this country...we led the World with everything from toys, jeans, cars...frigging Zippo lighters. I remember when we led the World with quality goods, and OUR goods were imitated, and the stronger of the imitators have emerged everywhere from the Red China to Sri Lanka now selling all of their trash that costs them $5 to make, at a 300% profit at our local stores, based on our designs, and our lifestyles...Route 66 clothing made in Bangladesh!!!WTF!!!!
Try finding American made goods readily available in your stores today. You can't. You have to go to the internet and really search to find QUALITY American, Union made goods these days. There are so many factors for the reasons nothing is made here anymore...from free trade to Company greed, to the unions letting their people down via nepotism and fund mis-appropiation and dinasour-ism, to non-union corporations using lower waged-underskilled, under-represented workers, many from across the border, as thier labor force. It all comes down to this....
WE DON'T MAKE ANYTHING IN THIS COUNTRY ANYMORE!!!
We are a country of get rich quick schemes, and instant internet satisfaction....I get so much spam, I'm beginning to think I won't be able to look my friends in the face unless I have the $200 dollar imitation Rolecks (Spelled that way for Copyright reasons), or re-enable my sex life and satisfy my wife with total spine tingling, toe curling euphoria enducing boner if I don't rush out and buy the newest internet Viagra avaible to me online because my cox-a floppin... We are a crumbling empire, and neither political party has any solution but to throw money at it. People wonder why we got this way...well stoopid, we have become a nation of idiots sitting in front of the TV, wondering if the next chain wearing, knock off smuggling knucklehead wearing his hat on sideways and his pants around his waist, unable to annunciate the current version of the English language without forming the letter "W" gangster west-side symbol wif' his finga's everytime the camera's in his face, and we all wonder who will be banging Lindsay Lohan this week in Vegas, or will Brittany make it next week in Hollywood...do they even speak English anymore...this is now the "Norm"?
Which fashions rule the red carpet on the Emmy nights, 21% rate credit cards gotta have my i-Phone music download maxxed out $20,000 credit card by the time these idiots pay them off they paid $90,000, and they are only 22 years old!!! Large coffee called "Di-ay-chee" instead of "Large" at some overpriced place called Starbucks, lack of school accountability carry your gun concealed because some little crack smoking gang banger will get your kids caught in the crossfire... Richard Simmons says I weigh too much and I should be sweating to the oldies??? Push away from the table FATTIE!!! Going neck and neck fasion race between Eva Longoria (WHO?) and Heidi Klume (DILLIGAF?) on some home-made sunshine studio lot red carpet, weak money I go to Vegas and all I see are imitations of Europe Eifel Tower Egypt whatever happened to American originality, everyone copied and wished they could be Rock and Roll '57 Chevy Blues, Jazz, Cadillac, Rock-a-Billie Levis jeans, route 66, Paul Newman is dead???? We are in decay here folks, and the answer is to throw money at it. WE ARE A NATION OF CREDIT AND LENDING!!! We don't have any collaterol, because the Japanese and the Arabs have bought it up, and moved it to Tokyo and Dubai, and then the Chinese buy our lumber, ship it to their homeland, and send it back as furniture particle board which WE buy at exorbatant prices...while the OPEC countries know we need the oil, so we follow a fabrication that there are weapons of mass destruction, and we pay 10 Billion a month to fight a war, when they have the figging oil and we pay to drill and refine, then we pay to ship and then pay to buy again at huge oil company profits..all of it ear marked and overtaxed by a government that pays more attention to illegal immigrants than it's own veterans. And the Chinese poison us because we are too foolish to make it or GROW IT ourselves!
I might sound angry, you might have noticed. I recently bought a house, decided to move the wife and kids back to U.S.A., as my company will pay me the same amount to sit in Ohio...and do the same thing as I would except to do the office work from Ohio. I got the money for the house no problem, let the bank pay for it..heck, why not. I'd rather let them spend their money. I'll pay it off in a couple of years. They had the nerve to call me three days after closing, telling me I was eligible for a $40,000.00 home equity loan...the ink was not even dry on the loan papers, and they want to give me a $40,000 credit card, attached to the mortgage (at 21% rate I'm told). Can you wonder WHY we have a problem?
Alexander the great had an empire, Rome had an empire, Napoleon had an empire, and they all failed. We have let...no, allowed these people to run our lives too long. They will crumble this empire, and move on to rape and pillage the next one.
I'm going back to cutting wood, and bartering for my goods. The rich will still get richer, while the rest of us will continue to WORK to own ONE home (1 home, not 7, or 12 or whatever he owns), and try to raise our kids the right way.
We are morally, finacially, and mentally bankrupt when we bail out the fat cats and company execs' that caused this mess, yet our children are killing each other but yet cannot even speak the language "aknowledged" as the language of the USA. We can't even agree on that!
57 channels and nothing's on.
I feel better, think I'll go drink some beers, download some porn, and shoot some squirrels. They deserve it them free-loadin' little bastards!:AR15
Ideas are only good if we tell others about them.

Rover, I agree with your comments, I too get very upset over forgein made goods. The lack of production in the USA, is a problem. WW11 we won out, because - we quickly changed our factorys to war production - and out produced the world - thus letting us win out.
Now we have closed most of our factorys in the event of a ww war, we will have to completely re-tool!!! The forgein debt to finance our present wars! is rediculous - Iraq, I understand has a surplus of funds? Question? why is it wrong to expect to recieve (* oil *) as compensation for our many good deeds. - the majority of the people we are trying to help do not care!

i totally agree with giving everyone 18 and up a peice of the 700 billion dollars these ass holes are about to spend on bailing out a companie that has ceos making 40 million a year. Like seroiusly give me a fucking break. I still sit here at my house healing from my motorcycle accident. I owe 90 thousand dollars to the hospital for my surgery. I had about 1000 dollars in debt owed to credit cards, and since those dick heads cant help a brother out, i now owe so much more due to interest rates. Like fuck man, our government has the power to want to extradite a man in canada for selling marijuana seeds through the mail, but they cant even help out their fellow american in a time of crisis. Its been 7 months since my accident, still am unable to work, ive been denied SSI twice already because the government feels that i dont need. Shit i have credit card bills, i food for my self, like shit i dont freaking understand it. I could use that money and so could everyone else. But instead of issueing out all that money that will eventually find its way back into the economy making our beautiful country more economically stable, they are gonna bail out these companies and that way they can keep there 3 trillion dollars in assets, along with the 20 condos that there ceos have around the world. Man i fucking hate our people in office, what happened to the geniun people who used to run this country back a hundred years earlier. Instead its rich mother fuckers who could give two shits about the average american. I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. —Thomas Jefferson, 1802 :cheers
1. The bailout bill had NO enforcement provisions for the so-called oversight group that was going to monitor Wall Street's spending of the $700 billion;
2. It had NO penalties, fines or imprisonment for any executive who might steal any of the people's money;
3. It did NOTHING to force banks and lenders to rewrite people's mortgages to avoid foreclosures -- this bill would not have stopped ONE foreclosure!;
4. It had NO teeth anywhere in the entire piece of legislation, using words like "suggested" when referring to the government being paid back for the bailout;
5. Over 200 economists wrote to Congress and said this bill might actually WORSEN the "financial crisis" and cause even MORE of a meltdown.
Put a fork in this slab of pork. It's over. Now it is time for our side to state very clearly the laws WE want passed.

so true man. Like wtf is an adjustable rate loan, and why the hell would people sign into a mortgage with an adjustable rate loan. The government needs to step in and start regulating these ridiculous interest rates. The greed of these high in office ass holes is what caused our country to fall into recession. They say we arent in a recession yet but give me break look at our economy we are worse off than we have ever been.
