For years and years I had heard from numerous people that if you wanted to work for and with the "top dogs", AES was the one to work for. I had heard rumors or even first hand that they were the best to work for.
As of late, however, I'm hearing from those same people, or second hand from those people that they are looking to leave AES ASAP. I'm just curios as to what has happened.
Any of you AES guys out there that can comment?

AES is still a great company to work for, it's just that we won't have any work till late fall, early winter. The boss has suggested, and supported, as he has in the past as far as slow tiimes, to allow the men to pursue other avenues of employment until he has something solid. I know of no other contractor that does this. He has many times allowed me to work short or long term, maintaining my 330 tax break, the company benefits, and he holds my TS clearance...something that NO ONE else would do. The man even located work for me through other contractors...pretty good I'd say.
There are several guys that have worked for AES and left, many of them are still my best of friends. They have their own personal reasons for leaving...more money, full per diem, better positions in the company, job location, etc. Everyone has their own reasons, and all of them good valid points.
Working for AES, like any other contractor, has it's up's and downs. We have licensed electricians, licensed telecom technicians, and skilled TSS...in fact, I think our TSS crew is the best....I've seen many, and what I have seen lately from all these others is pretty scary...sloppy work, and always confused about how the doors work.
Everyone has an opinion, Thank God for that.
Still the Top Dogs. Good to Go!
