I was turned away from KBR because I have type two diabetes. I.m wondering if all contractors have this exclussion. I'm nowhere near insulin dependancy. I take one pill a day and I have no dietary restrictions.Has anyone heard of more cases like mine?

Worked with one guy that had simular situation but he kept on working, but the most rejected people we're the ones with high blood pressure.

High Blood Pressure and epoxy fumes are the reason you change contractors so often? Just yankin your chain man, we both know that the blood pressure aint got nothin to do with it

ricnlsnsr2---Without knowing all the particulars regarding your problem, in the states you could sue for discrimination. If as you say , your diabetes is controled with daily oral meds the only problem that I can see is your having an adequate supply of meds on hand.

Wanting to sue has nothing to do with it--- SHE WANTS A JOB.

Sorry ALKY; Apparently you had the answer to her question> I to was trying to help her-- but guess it wasn't good enough or enough experience. Sorry. I entered into the thread.

My :2cents says go to a doctor and get him to put something in writing saying you are not a health risk and you are good to go. Might work might not but I think it will help out down the road.

Alky; Abouy the only thing that I saw people get refused for was High Blood Pressure.I think there was about 4 that got refused from our crew. We had one gut that had a good fisical and then a year later liked to die of a heart attack . I didn't quite understand how quick a person could go down so fast. ANYWAY CHEERS. I know that you we're just yankin my chain and I truly was on some pretty strong EPOXY~!!OH WELL.

it's my understanding that kbr disqualifies EVERYONE with diabetes. i was told by a kbr medic a few years ago that the climate and environment in the middle east makes it extremely difficult for diabetics to manage their condition.

are there any current kbr folks out there who can shed more light on this?
