With the exception of the wages, the same thing could be said about some civilians on overseas assignments too.

I disagree with you Pensecola, I am someone that has been on both sides of the fence. Civilian Expat workers have a choice we can leave a contract when ever we want and not be considered a crimminal.

Our troops can not leave when ever they want.....without being considered a crimminal remember the term AWOL.

They really have it Bad and it is people like us Expat that fight for our 330, of which the troops do not get. Our pay is about 4 to 5 times as much as the Troops and most locations we do not have to do our jobs with a weapon,gas mask, and atropen in our pockets. For all the true americans on this site should make a point to our local officals that the Military deserves much better treatment than we are allowing the illegals to have.

Make no mistakes we Americans are allowing this to happen to our troops. We are one of the few country in the world that has the freedom to tell our local officals to go to hell. We are becoming a very passive country, we need to fight for our Troops.

I did mention higher wages. You are correct about being able to leave when we want to. I put 8 years in the military, so I know the other side of the fence too.

There are many of veterans in this land that do appreciate what cost has been given for our country . With all the BS and finger pointing going on these days things have been forgotten . The feeling of pride and unity that we had when 911 hit has all been lost by most . I belong to the Leathernecks M/C and we have functions to help vets out . The old that are forgotten and the new that some look the other way because of deformaties from war . I'm proud to live in this country and have given back to it as alot of you have .

Many times I can "cry" in the waitting room, at times ( before ) they were healthy and whole, but the military completely ruined their body & life.

Mexfishguide:cheers Yeah, You should be in Wal-Mart settin a t the OLE BENCH and the cryin starts. I set at the bench while my wife does her business and quite often there are the "OLE TROOPERS" that will either make their way by me , either by the little motor cart or walkin, most of them are still PROUD ENOUGH to be wearin some type of V.F.W. hat or cap or maybe a cap saying which ship or which branch of service they we're in. If I see one of these types I hav to THANK THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE AND MAYBE GET TO CHAT WITH THEM ABOUT IT. This is one of the BIG REASONS OUR EMBASSIES SHOULD BE TOP NOTCH---FOR OUR MARINES, ARMY, AND NAVAL, PERSONAL WHOM GO DOWN THE HALLWAYS. i'VE SEEN FINISHED PAINTED WALLS THAT WE'RE A GRAVEL FINISH THAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SMOOTH!!! WHAT A SHAME!!! Anyway my hat's off to them!!!! CAN'T SAY OR EXPRESS IT ENOUGH GUYS!!!!!!

One other thing that is truly sad is that when an issue gets put up to increase the benefits for our military men and women (I retired with 24 years active and reserve) is that congress tags on riders that also put money into other issues other then military. So when one gets shot down then the message of not supporting our troops comes out. How about maybe just some bills that help our military and veterans.
