Of all the questions I get in emails and PM's from the site a day, this one is the NUMBER one question I get the most. Almost to the point of being annoying, but really it isn't. Some times, I think it is a bit funny.

Now, I know, at times, not knowing who people are is a bad thing: Prank phone calls, people stealing your car, people knocking on your door and running away by the time you get there. BUT, it isn't always a bad thing. That is why I extend this privelage to ALL my users. You can sign in under ANY name you choose.

However, here are some reason as to WHY members will NEVER know who I am. I'm listing these, because they are the main reasons. It is not to be sneaky, or underhanded, but for MY protection as well.

Example #1: Just like it said on the old Banner at the top. This site is "Made FOR Overseas Trades Professionals, BY Overseas Trades Professionals" and is to HELP Overseas Trades Professionals. What that means, is that I TOO am working over seas. With that in mind, think of this. I've set up a site that helps people get job info and hopefully land jobs, easier than ANY OTHER SITE IN THE WORLD (because there is NO OTHER SITE like this in the world :cheers ). That in itself is not that bad. However, when you think of this, it is.
Let's say that someone finds a better job through the site, so they drag up or quit their current job, leaving the current employer short handed. How much distaste do you think I would get thrown toward me from that company? Think they would want to hire me? Think if members knew who I was, their employers couldn't ask "are you on that site, who is that HeadRat guy, I hate his guts." See my point?

Example #2: Let's say there is a job that is not paying NEARLY what it should be or a purely COMICAL contract being offered from another one, and there is both. Let's also say, that it is posted on this site, and they are. Let's also say, that these "said jobs" are currently being recommended to be 'boycotted' by members of this site for the said reasons as to get the company to bring up the money or change the contract, which it did eventually and it will change eventually when no one will sign it. Now, when I go to apply for this company, do you think they would shine too favorably on me and hire me after I just helped to get their wages up and profit margin down?

There are other examples, but those are the biggest ones right now and the most important things. Remember, just because you don't know me, that is nothing, I don't know you either. I also hold the trust that no information you get from this site is not going to be shared with others, unless they are members. I'm MORE at risk of posting the info to let others shoot for jobs that I might want than anyone.

Some would argue that I ask for the resume to confirm the person is who they say they are, and I did, that used to be the second stage of registration. Some are affraid to send this personal information to an unknown person. I can understand this, but it was purely to use your name and jobs listed to verify you are who you say you are. It is mainly used to keep out HR and HeadHunters, as I despise them both and that is why they must pay to enter. Also, I DO NOT PLACE PEOPLE in jobs and the resume is stored in the UTMOST TOP NOTCH secured place to be shared with NO ONE, unless you choose to have it posted in the "Resume Database".

If giving out this private info is a concern to you, simply take your phone number and address off the resume. Just leave your name or don't enter, that is fine too and no hard feelings are headed your way.

All in all, I want to put the POWER and the MONEY back in the worker's hands. We have already shown that we CAN do this, and I want it to continue.

:rockwoot: Tell 'em Headrat. It should be obvious to anyone the reasons for remaining anonymous. I did have a question about the sight. I just found it and singed up today, but I am unable to access some of the threads and posts. Is there anything else I need to do? Take care Bro and keep your head down! Plumber's know our S_ _ _!!!:doh

Ah, a true man of the new Millenium. Oh, I am sorry, man or woman of...

If these people are so sheltered they must ask why, then maybe they won't be able to understand it. I personally had no problems sharing my info with you because, for one thing, the way I first heard of the site, the people who were associated with it, and their sincere intentions. But if I did not trust in you/the site, I would not share my identity and we all should be aware of the risks of doing that. My question would be, "how did you hear of this site"? Was it recommended to you by someone you trust?

Beyond that I wouldn't care what HeadRats' birth certificate says. Now JESTER, that may be another matter.:cheers

To me, to find the headrat is simple - just look for the rat with the longest tail, big ears & big teeth. :rockwoot:
