I held a clearance several years ago; it is no longer active. What are the chances of getting some logistics/warehouse/HR work without a current clearance? Where's the best place to start?

I think the best place to start is to come inside where the rat bros can help you get on the right track.

Without becoming a subscriber your only allowed to hang around the fringes of our site.

Unfortunately..........I think your best bet would be to go thru one of the larger players, like KBR to get your foot in the door, and maybe get a clearance, eventually. Go to the Company contacts section, look for their websites, and maybe get a phone number to call. Or, maybe you could do something thru NASA with the Space Center being near you. Hope it works out for ya.

:cheers Ahhh......I know where the 8609 in your screen name came from!!!!!!! :cheers

Where are you at in Melbourne, I just left a contract position there on a long contract. From what I have been told is that your clearance is good for upto 2 years after your last use it, but it usually just takes a letter from your employer to get it reactivated, after thattime and longer you may have to go through the process again. I know there has been threads on the security proceess, Good luck.

you may want to look at Harris too, they are in Melbourne and Palm Bay and are looking for cleared people

I have all my paperwork in with Harris, Cape people, and DRS as well. Just no bites...I'll keep plugging along, though!

Harris is a screwy company, if you don't have a degree, you aren't crap to them, they had a job that required a TS, prior military and current tech experience for a microwave project and were only offering 44 K a year, DRS keeps sending me links for jobs, but only got one call. As for Harris, I have inside contacts for the FAA project and have the same issues with them. They laid four contractors off in the team I worked with and hired the other two as perm and the same with the contractors in the other teams, they offered them decent pay, but one had a masters degree, even though I had to teach them how to test analog and digital circuits, all they knew was IP stuff. Bitter, not me, I keep moving on. :rockwoot:

Also Patrick AFB had some openings, not sure who the contract company is though.

Try a military contractor Like RMS with AFCAP.com Or IAP world services...Or PA&E...They will get your clearance for you....Jim

ITT also has a big chunk of the LOGCAP contract now, KBR is always there...UGGGHHH... Also look into some of the airfreight cos. flying in here to Bagram.. DHL FEDEX etc... Pretty sure none of these need a clearance as most of the KBR guys I've met can't even read...HAAAAAAAA

Try contacting RMS directly. They are out of Panama City. They may have something for you. They have their hands in a lot of different military contracts. They are a good Company to work for. They allways do what they say, the paycheck is allways there in the bank, and they actually pay the bonus to you:rockwoot: not unlike some companies out there:fauches: As stated above, there is allways KBR, but I would only applly to them and work for them as a last resort.:nono: :cheers

Try the IAP web site: www.iapws.com and see what they have openings for or try the URS web site: www.urscorp.com as well.

RMS is now under the IAP umbrella and URS has EG&G and Washington Group under their umbrella as well. Maybe a "cold contact" resume (in word format) might do the trick.

Here are a couple names to try at IAP:

(HR) Linda Adcock--Linda.C.Adcock@iapws.com (Panama City, Fl)
(HR) Chris Broussard-- Christopher.A.Broussard@iapws.com (Irmo, SC)

There is also Pacific Architects & Engineers (PA&E) Rosslyn, Va. I don't have a contact name but I believe that their office is on Kent Street (across from the Rosslyn Metro station) if you are in DC.

Hope this helps you. Good luck on your search.

I think your preferred bet can be to go thru between the bigger players, like KBR to acquire your foot in spite of the simple fact that in the door, and possibly obtain a clearance, eventually. choose that institution contacts section, glance for their websites, and possibly obtain a cellular phone amount to call.
