US Embassy in Belgrade Serbia was broken into by rioting protestors, doors ripped off, fires set. Wonder if this was one of the upgraded/new buildings or one of the older buildings.

That's no NEC. so it's irreverent to blame the contractor or the door installer. I do not know what company built the place.

The doors installed are (were) SHW rated doors. REGARDLESS of who built the place... and the doors are in fact "Norshield or Equalivent", according to OBO standards. Do you think they just place Norshield doors on NEC's???:banghead I guess you don't work for a security or TSS contractor, and I'm not trying to be a dick, but before any building can claim to be used as an Embassy, there are certain standards that must be met, especially pertaining to the geographical area. Not all of our current operating embassy buildings were built by US contractors...they all are modified to meet the OBO standards by American contractors for certain areas....all TSS work shall be installed by cleared AMERICAN workers. This is why it pays to be a TSS technician or an electrician that trains the technicians. They can have locals do conduit (!!!Funny!!!!) and pull wire (even funnier!!!), but terminations and certain door installs on the Embassies, in this case an EOB, are done by cleared American workers. The doors were installed by an OBO contractor on a Firm Fixed Price contract. This I do know.
On a side note, to the guys that know what I'm talking about...
How fast do you think the react was. I bet they had hard on's all day.

Looking at the pictures I wondered how they got in and tore the doors off in the first place, plus lack of local security. I'm thinking the same about the react.

Belgrade was on the 2008 project list - looks like it could be delayed a bit now.

Kosovo might need a new embassy, however and it is just down the road.

Well "duh", the way the news showed them throwing fire bombs into the embassy!!!??? The doors could have been opened from the inside????

If the building was vacated before the attack rush, there was no one at home to keep the folks out???:AR15

We all know any door can be breached, if enough time and resources are spent.
:rockwoot:
Maybe Hardline rob, can enlighten us a little on the doors.

Take Care

"A portion of the Embassy sustained extensive smoke, fire and water damage. After conducting a preliminary damage assessment, it appears that none of the FEBR doors were breached although they sustained severe damaged but not breached. The upper FEBR door of the chancery was not touched. The walk-through metal detector and x-ray machine in the waiting area were damaged. Many exterior windows were broken, and there is damage to the crumple zone. Facilities and RSO are making further assessments this morning. One eyewitness said the building looks like "burned Swiss cheese.""

Gee,
isn't this the same country that started WWI, and some believe the original cause of WWII...I see Russia has stated that it is concerned that NATO and the UN follow the declared procedure, and stay out of the conflict and simply maintain borders, as agreed upon. Russia is also asking to convene the Security Council for an emergency session today in a last-ditch effort to reverse the American- and European-backed plan to end Belgrade's sovereignty over the majority-Muslim province....WWIII???

Rover, you are correct on both WW1 and WW2 facts.

from personal experience, with state it could at least a year once they even accept your package. they go through a background check among other checks, including having you test and interview with them, and at a time that fits their schedule, and then you must be no older then 59 when applying 60 when appointed. good luck with them.

Actually, it is IMTS, which covers telecom, data, IT, etc. I could, but I won't tell you were to look for the info. I'll send it to Headrat

After reviewing the site, IMS is the main group, with IMTS under that. It stands for Information Management Technology
