I recieved an e-mail this AM, from a friend within OBO. Apparently the General has submitted his resignation, effective 12/31/07. This information, if true, could shake up alot of people/ organizations/ GC's. Maybe all that bad press over the Baghdad project has finally done the job.:rockwoot:
The McClatchy Washington Bureau is reporting the story of the Generals' resignation. It is under the heading of "3rd State Department....":rockwoot:

What a crock of shit:
"Under his leadership, the Department has built 56 new embassies and consulates, providing over 15,000 employees with safer, modern facilities," State Department spokesman Tom Casey said in a statement. He said that when Rice became secretary in 2005, she asked him to "stay for two additional years to complete a number of ongoing projects. Three years later he has now decided the time is right to retire. We salute General Williams for his service to our country and wish him all the best in the future.
Sounds like this guy has a history of "retiring" early from projects. That way he is out of there before the shit really hits the fan and gets blamed on someone else. Oh well now they will find some other loser to run it into the ground.

:AR15 He should go to JAIL for what he has done, not allowed to hold any position ever again. Take all retirement away from him to fix all the screw ups he managed to make on his watch :wtf

Now here is a novel thought, making OBO accountable-accountable for what and to whom??
There is already in place a Fraude, Waste and Abuse phone number posted on ALL printed media from the State Dept. Inspector General's Office and this media is at all embassy's or Consulate American Citizen Services sections.
Oh, I forgot, the State Dept. has an Inspector General and department workers that either don't know what they are looking at/for or ignore the incoming traffic concerning fraude, waste or abuse. Wonder if the I.G. himself has tendered his resignation??
This beggers the next question-what of the folks "under the I.G."-senior, mid level managers and the "phone answerers"-apparently they get a paycheck but for doing what exactly?? To whom are they accountable??
If OBO Construction and Commissioning Division is responsible for assigning the PD's and other OBO staff to the various projects for construction "OVERSIGHT", and this "oversight" does not take place, then again-to whom is/are OBO/CC accountable??
Ah, the Mr. Ms. and Mrs. Taxpayer I hear you say. True true but then again this has been inplace since the Gummint assessed taxes and divied this tax money to the various agencies within the Fed Gummint.
Can it be that Jane and John 6-pack are not informed that the State Dept(just to name 1 section) are spending the tax money "unwisely"(in their name) building a walled "Fortress America" in "shitholeistan" by NON-US workers-maybe. So then, if the Senators and Congressmen/women (who are elected by the same tax payers) know of the lack of accountability, incompetance, ineptness or lack of any sort of oversight by the State Dept and OBO, why haven't the elected officials done anything over the past years to curb the mismanagement?? Why now upcoming to an election do the elected officials start "beating their brests" and "posturing".
Just a thought or 2.

Some excellent points well written.
I think most of the why not, is because we the american taxpayer set
back on our ass and do not speak up.
The oversight committe with Waxman and others move very slowly, without the push by the newspaper groups and concerned citizens, ( including RatPack bros.) the head knocker at OBO would never have been pushed so far as to resign.
One of the BIGGEST problems in Baghdad was the MR Golden of OBO he was not fired but instead just transferred to Kuwait to continue running the biggest fiasco of the century.
From the RICE and DUCK capital of the world, Stuttgart, Arkansas,:wtf
