:banghead A few things that have been bothering me, lately. Been hearing more, and more of companies only paying per diem for days worked. What do you do on non working days, just magiclly appear at home for your meals, and stuff? We all know the contractors are charging FULL PER DIEM to the government for the whole 7 days!

Also, I've been hearing more, and more of companies paying a certain, established "rate" for hours worked over 40. We all have to deal with losing time and one half on overseas jobs since 1988, but as far as I know, here, in AMERICA, the "established rate" for hours worked over 40 is 1 1/2 times the regular rate of pay, and it is NOT negotiable, it's the LAW. :banghead

Just wanted to get some stuff off my chest, thanks

My contract states that I am to get straight time rates for any overtime in a week, yet some say they get time and a half. I'll just wait until I am off this project and go to the labor board and inquire about my time and a half for the OT I've worked, should be a nice chunk of change.

Anyone working overseas and not getting 7 days per diem got to have a screw are two loose!

Folks do not allow this crap, we are getting beat up enough without allowing this stuff.

I have never recieved anything but st time,, for all hours worked, and I have been over there for over 40 years. Nor going to happen.

I know what the gov rules are "but" I will never work where they cut my pay back to regular pay, no******* upgrades on weekends!:wtf

You can say,.!? I need to work to pay my bills - - that is the attitude that drives wages, per diem, travel, lodging, & conditions downnnnnn, and it is why electrical folks work as pipefitters, and pipefitters work as insulators, and plumbers as rod busters. :rockwoot:

DAM !! Please stand up....get a pair, we are loosing enough with out giving things away. You are not an ass-hole when you stand up for whats right, but you are if you do not stand up########:sport002:

Take Care
