I think it would be great to have some one post up a letter to our gov, officials that we could all copy and paste in an e mail to all our sen, rep, and other officials.....

Perhaps, some one more articulate with the keyboard then I. maybe rover are
jester, justus. Are can we all contribute a little and then some one combine and regroup all our ideas, into a short 1 page of information, with an invitation to this site through HR to look at all the problems we see.?!

Question? how many rat bros did we get on the Bejing project, this last call, any idea?

Take Care

Do like I did. I spent the last three days emailing these guy one at a time and here is the address and the message I sent.

I am currently deployed to the Persian Gulf area as a contractor for
the DOD, DOS.
What we have got to do is get qualified, and cleared Americans on these
embassy projects and other OBO and related construction sites. The TCN
and local labor used by these cheapskate companies is dragging the
quality down and the price up. How many times do we have to re do shoddy
work!!
Lets get the State dept. to hire qualified, cleared Americans and we
wont have the problems like we are having with first kuati trading, or other lowball out fits. How long are we going to let
these companies line their pockets and make us work for peanuts while
we train the unskilled TCN's and local do nothing labor that hate
America anyway.

See what you can do about this mess, please.

Respectfully,

I am kind of like the bro above that wears the funny hat. I have mailled several letters to our gov. I will bet you if Rice and others recueved a 1000
e mails from different folks expressing our displeasure, some one would look up.....????

This is my last short effort mailed out.

Greetings Honorable Senetar gangbangdong

I belong to a group of ( 1050+) construction workers specializing in overseas O.B.O. projects ---- www.ratpackinternational.com ---. We are very upset over the corruption, waste, shoddy work, & forgien involvement in our US Embassy projects overseas, paid for with our American tax money. We
must find a way to solve this problem.
Not only the big embassy project in Iraq but around the world, the award to that firm was a big slap in the face to our american contractors and to the american construction workers.
The people we elect to high positions and the hired top level people, set at their desk, read reports and listen to the wrong people. Boy they say, we can hire electrician, plumbers, and all workers from xyz country for us$1.00 per hr. So they decide to do so and hire 100 trades folks from xyz. But guess what none have any idea how to work with our materials, methods, and tools!!! True story country after country. You expect US quality work by forgien workers, not happening, never has, and I doubt it ever will.
The only way we see to use local labor to any advantage is by using them as labors, helpers, & trainees, yes 1 american labor foreman can work & police 10 local floor sweepera, but 1 american electrical foreman can not work, police, & get the work with 10 local electricians!!!! The way to go about this is 1 american trade foreman with 5 american crafts and 2 local helpers each expat. The locals are used to, pull this, hold that, carry these, clean this up, unload the materials.
OPur american contractors, claim they can not hire enough american workers, not true they can. We must take control of these project by hiring more american workers.

Mex Fish, and Pack Members..

MF I am currently sending a letter to my congressman, Duncan Hunter, outlining the problems and waste that management that various contractors have caused by not hiring the proper amount of skilled tradesmen for our Embassy projects.

Pack menbers--I challange all of you to correspond with your elected reps and help clear the air about what is wrong with our Embassy projects. This should be an honest and unbiased account of the problems of waste and abuse that you have seen and what the Company and/or OBO has done to straighten out the problems.

If we dont stand together on this and now, we are going to wind up being blamed for all the short commings that are making the headlines!
Honestly members, the contractors and the OBO staff are going to be looking for a scape-goat--and who better to lay the blame on than the overpaid and under trained construction workers that have done all this shoddy work. Surly they cant blame the local hired contractors, after all they work so hard and are so cheep.
Get it on and join the group--notify your elected reps and your local newspapers--if we dont protect ourselves--we are up shits creek without the proverable paddle

I would have to agree, without people sending in emails or letters there is now way to SPARK an iota of interest in what is going on. With all the bad publicity hitting the papers these days, people are wanting answers.

Moving into my new house this week...Congrats dude.:cheers

Listen you guys, dont just write to YOUR senator, write to them all. Get your brotherinlaw to do the same for a 12 pak of HIS beer and we have doubled the out put. These senators accept contacts from people outside their home state if it is a far reaching issue, which ours is.

Now is the time to strike while the iron is hot. The senator and commitee chair for this inquiry into DOS abd OBO practices is The hounorable (or adorable) Henry ( I need some mustache wax) Waxman. He game to take on some of the Bush appointees, so lets give him the ammo he needs to get things cookin our way. Send him some rat pack stickers or t-shirts. You never know, we might get a glimpse of one on C-span. Here is the email address of them all. It took me three days, off and on about two hours a day. Here is the link AGAIN. Go thru it ono by one till you hit 'em all, and then pop a beer for the guy with style. OH YEA.

Besides emailing our Gov officials, maybe cc the larger newspapers also. like the Washington post, new york times and so-forth. mayube that way the press might put pressure on our officials. Because as we all know the press works for ratings. If we get our word out and put blood in the water, the sharks should start circling. This is my :2cents

What do you guys (and gals) think...good, bad or too ugly
