what is differential pay and how is it based, basically define what it is in regards to our contracts on these jobs thanks.

What part of Kentucky are you in? Differntial pay to me has been when ever I worked a shift oter then "first" shift (7/8AM to 5/6PM), it was usually 10% more for second shift and upto 15% for third shift., as far as "these" contracts it should spell out if you are to paid this.

Are you refering to area differential, or shift differential? An area differential is commonly refered to as an uplift; depends on the country where the job is located. The other differential is what Gabriel has described.
understand is the same as uplift, but why do they seperate it , why dont they just add it to your base each month and say heres your base salary. thanks for replys
