I am CarpenterX and I have a question about something that happened with my
Clearnece. I was recently working for Zachry in Nicaragua after being let go
there I was contacted to go to Ecuador for Zachry and Burma for Harbert. Here is
my problem, my clearence in Nicaragua was an Interm S, I was still awaiting my
interview, the required lvl of clearence for Ecuador was also Iterm S or above.
It seems though that when I left the nicaragua jobsite Zachry stoped processing my
SF86 and lost jurisdiction over it,:doh because of this the people that hand out
clearence's have decided that they will not give me another interm S I must wait
for my interview to ubtain my full S. So now I have 2 different companies on the
phone asking me when I can come to work and no active clearence to do so. :wtf I am
so pissed off right now I am just really looking for guidence in this situation.
Do you know of any I can do about this problem.

Have you contacted the Zachry security manager.

If not do so, ask in a decent way what is the status of your clearance.

It will be hard to find out anything on your own.

Take Care

No company processes your clearance, it is done by the department for which it is for (DOD, State, etc). All Zachry or any other company can do is inform the govenment that you are no longer working for them. It took me quite a long time to get mine finalized, which came after I last used my interim. What takes time is how many places you have lived/worked and followwing up on all these. What you need to do is ask the security person to verify what staus your clearance is in. :cheers

One thing he has to worry about though, is if two different companies submit at the same time, because this WILL cause it to be dropped all together.
I'd ask whichever company you ARE working for to have their security manager look into it and find out what is going on, then stay on top of them.
YOU PERSONALLY, will have a hard time trying to get anything out of the state dept about it, even though it is ALL your info and the like

I understand all the company does is sponser you through the process but an interm must saty active or it goes away. Even if you are not actually working for a company at the time the one sponsering you must say that you are or you are consdered no longer active and the company loses jurisdiction over your case.

I have been in constant contact with the Zachry Sec. Dept. They are more than happy to let me check the status of my clearance when ever I want but they also all agree the problem is that , I was issued an Interm Last year Zachry lost Jurisdiction over it nad now the State Dept will not issue another Interm. They want me to wait untill the investigation is over to get my Clearance.

The main reason I'm so pissed is Zachry let me go, and Zachry wants to hire me again for another project, there was only a 3 1/2 month gap between them but they stopped sponsering my clearance anyway.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, sadly, welcome to working for Zachry. It's going to be interesting to see what happens to all these people that were promised TS's to go to Beijing and won't be getting them, cause as soon as they are done with the people, they drop the clearance.

If what you say that they won't let you start a new clearance, then that means you are ok to work, maybe the new companies don't want you if you just have an interim. Mine started early 2004 and was adjudicated Dec 2006. One company wanted me to start new paper work but the folks in charge of processing the clearances said no, let the process flow, in fact the system rejected any new stuff. I think you are ok on the clearnace.

I wish that was so but when they stopped processing my clearence it went inactive. I checked a couple diff. places and the thing is for a company to sponser your clearence they have to say you are employed by them, like when I first started mine in late 2005 Zachry told the Dept of state I was an employee from the date they started processing my paperwork not the date 4 months later that I actually started working. The problem occered when I they stopped sponsering me in between the 2 jobs, with no sponser I was told I could not have a interm clearance causing me to have to update and refile before the next job. That is when Dept. of State guys said no you can't have another interm u must wait for judifacation.:banghead

Your either in the system or not, if they say you must for adjudication then you are in the system. If they dropped you then that may something else. Call the security manager at zachry and ask them what has happened, they can verify if you're in the system and they can talk with the appropiate people to see what the status is.

I knew of two guys who were in for interim and bailed on the company and the company pulled their sponsor, that may be a hang up, but it sounds to me that if they are in the adjudication process you're ok.
