Anyone know anything about PAE? I think they are offering a low package but not sure what kind of company they are. I almost think it is worse than Beijing, but will have to read a little more.

PAE, Pacific Architechts and Engineers is a company which provides maintenance support for our embassies and consulates in Russia and China. You have to have a TS, which they will process, and you have to sign a two year contract. You're right, the money isn't great but they have quite a few perks and take good care of you. If you don't want to worry about where you're going to hang out for the next two years and you don't want to have to work hard then sign on. You have to serve your first tour either in Beijing or Moscow but then you can bid on the different consulates in China and Russia as well as the embassy and consulates in Viet Nam. It could also serve as a way to get a TS if you don't have one. Try www.pae-moscow.com for all the details.

And another thing. Moscow was recently listed as the most expensive city in the world in which to live. PA&E wages won't go as far there as they will in Beijing.

PAE, has ask me several times to sign with them. and they have many more locations then the above 2.
Perks & conditions, seemed good, but wages are low compared to construction.
They have allways talked to me in a gentle manner.
Take Care

I had an offer from them a few years ago and the pay was extremely low and they discouraged accompanied status. To me it was like they really didn't want to hire good qualified people. I was really wishing they would up their ante as they did have some interesting places open.
Took a look at their site again and still have an opening for a telecom tech. Although at state they used to have an opening, but now is closed, maybe because PAE will bring in a person for less money.

Yes I agree, the package is not too bad but with no MIE and the wages low, it is not worth it. There are some good perks but does not justify the low wages. Thanks for all your inputs, but I turned this one down.

I heard some bad things about them from someone who worked for them in Moscow when I was in Beijing. The "perks" sound great, but even they weren't all they were cracked up to be off paper. Their wage sucks, unless you were really in dire straits, I don't see why anyone would work for that amount.

Got a reply via email the other day from PAE, looks like the same they offered a year, still pretty low, although Beijing was higher then Moscow by $1200. :fauches: :fauches:
