Good Day Gents, I am wondering if anyone can help me? I have a TS like a lot of folks but I would like to also get a poly attached to it. Any one know of a easy way of doing that? IE: Some short term work or something?

Just like the TS, a company has to get it for you and it only happens when it is needed for a particular job.

I can sell you one for a few dollars :fauches:

didn't we just have a wonderfull post on this site that pretty much spelled out how clearances are granted and what one needs to do in order to have one.

The basic answer is that you only can be cleared to the level of the project you are working on requires. All the other is sttuff you only need to know when the boss says you need one.

I would have thought that those who have clearances would know all this stuff.

I usually use a cracker to get a poly

Ok, I am sorry I meant to say is: How dose one get a sposer for a poly. Or what is the easiest way. Do you know of a job, (Working in the pentagon as a mail clerk for a month or so) that you can get one. Since all the jobs I see online want you to have one but never offer to get you one. I know someone can get a security clearance by applying for some jobs, doing the paper work and then not taking that job but still getting getting the clearance.

there is a post put up a short while ago about obtaining a clearance and the different levels of them. Since you you must have one in order to get a job and you must have a job in order qualify to have one, it is somewhat of a catch 22. If I read correctly you have a TS, you could go to the security person (not the gate guard) and see what info they can give you. From my understanding is that if the project doesn't require you to have one then you don't get one. Some companies have a hard time staffing projects, either because they can't find the people, don't pay, or can't get them cleared. If you had/have a TS it shouldn't be that difficult. You might not fit the companies needs and maybe that is the best way to put you off.

Naw, Gabe, I don't want to go to PA for same money I am making here. Maybe if it was 3 yr project I would....I want to work another 5 - 10 yrs, and this job is just so cushy and close to home, ya know?

It sounds like an opportunity though, is the work REALLY in Valley Forge, or are they just based out of there?

I have called the lady several times, best I can figure it is in Valley Forge, I understand there is some sort of navy facility near there. I'm earning a little less then that with the potential of going perm by the end of the year, also have something cooking with Qwest in Wyoming, but not earning what I am now. you looking for any help there, I'm looking to retire in 5 or so years, but we have a 6 yo granddaughter we're raising.

Gabe, I will be hiring a help-desk level person here in about 6 months, but the pay will SUCK! You thinking about moving out here where the men are men and the sheep are nervous?

where's here Pops? I lived in Texas for a few years and made it out safe :rockwoot: Qwest has sent me an email and we've talked about the possibility of a job in Wyoming, but this project for the FAA with Harris has 15 years left on the contract with jobs moving more in to the NOCC and Operations side from the Provisioning.
