This should open a can of worms, but I would like to get a good discussion going. Let me hear from ya.
What's the most important craft on a job?

A lot of you know me, my name is The Wild Rover and I am an electrician. I am very proud of my trade. I have been to school for several years, and I have been doing this for over 20 years. We have to be able to work around all the other crafts, as our prints show the civil and mechanical, and where we put our work impacts all. We cooperate with all crafts, and almost all trades rely on electrical systems for their work nowadays...
However...
On a real job, the most important trade is a good laborer. They keep the materials staged, clean the areas constantly, keep the water jugs and toilets clean....
TOO BAD the overseas contractors don't realize this. Look at the toilets, the drinking water, and the way material is staged, and the mess on the floor, and you just might be on a JA Jones or Harbart, or a KBR job. Just my opinion.

Electrical, and not just because I'm a sparky. Sure some other crafts can say they are because "...hell, boy, we can use hand saws and blah blah blah..."
You show me a carpenter that will hand cut every stud with a hand saw or cut them with snips for the WHOLE job, and I'll show you one pissed off carpenter.
The Wild Rover, laborers would be a good idea, but it would have to be top notch. We got one here, so far we have had him looking for the basement, EMT threader, and level bubbles. :LolLolLol
