Sadly, we have lost another Overseas Brother today. Early this morning Wayne Obenauf, our QC guy for the project in Algiers passed away.
His CONSTANT upbeat attitude and sense of humor will be a soarly missed personality on this job and in life.
Never one to really worry or get caught up in a load of BS he was a great guy to have around, drink with, or just talk to as he continued on throughout the day with a carefree attitude. The management staff, American and Local, are all taking it pretty hard, as they had spent the better part of the last 18 months with him on a daily and nightly basis, along with a couple other jobs.
The "company Pitch and Putt porch" will not be the same without his Jolly laughter.
Miss ya already, brotha.
My prayers as I'm sure everyone elses in the pack goes out to his family and friends..

So true. One of the few here who treated you as an equal and a person rather than a subordinate. He will as you said be justifyably missed.

When you find out where and when, please let me know so that RPI can send something to the family. I don't believe that he was a member on this site, but he was an Overseas "brother". Our hearts go out to the family.

Just got this emailed to me from Caddell:
Got this emailed to me today:
Good Afternoon Everyone, This is to let you know that Wayne Obenauf arrived in Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon and was taken to the Rideout's Valley Chapel in Birmingham. This afternoon, Jean, Wayne's wife, met with the funeral home personnel and the following services have been scheduled:
A small memorial service will be held next Tuesday, December 12, at 1:00pm at the Mineral Springs Road Baptist Church on County Road 29 near Pell City, AL.
Wayne grew up in Macon, GA, and his Mother, brothers and other family members and friends still reside there; therefore, a memorial service will be held in Lizella (a suburb of Macon) on Saturday, December 16, at 11:30am, at the Lizella United Methodist Church.
Jean has requested NO FLOWERS but contributions can be made to the Salvation Army or to your favorite charity.
Jean wanted me to let you all know that she appreciates your prayers and support and has requested that you continue to remember her as she attends these memorial services for Wayne.
Thank you.
