I eliminated and edited my original post, as I feel some words cannot say enough to equal my anger. The whole idealism behind this, and the so called religion and ideology of hatred...It's been 5 years, where is Osama Bin Laden? Screw Saddam, was he ever a threat? Who knows. Where in the hell is Osama? The ridiculous religion of hatred followers danced in the streets everywhere. I am still angry. I am not sad, I am enraged. I was taught, as I will teach my son, an innocent child born into these difficult times that there is good and bad everywhere, in every culture, and every man...it just seems hard to find sometimes, and the good inside us, and taught to us, will teach us to look for it. How do we explain this to our children without instilling our predjudice? I don't know, only I know I will try... I know when I see those horrible images, like the one I attached, it will be difficult indeed. Remember the innocents, and damn the guilty...
You are so right WRover. They have a saying that goes, in part, something like, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" That is what they are selling us, but it is only true until we kick their enemy's ass, then we become their enemy again. There are some good individuals, but as a people, I don't trust ANY of them.:2cents

Wow, pretty much to the point. It's getting harder and harder to be bi-partisan these days.
Keith Olbermann for president!:cheers Here's the thing, in the office in which I am now working , we had a discussion about the Democrats calling Bush's appearance on 9/11 a politically motivated event. Well I am a Democrat, but I know that ANY time a politician is seen on tv, it is a political event. What did we expect? It is true that I haven't seen any evidence of bi-partisan-ism being inspired by 9/11. Just words, not deeds. It is hard not to be jaded by the media coverage of world events, especially when you have seen stuff with your own eyes and then seen how it was represented in the media. Having said that, the USA is not perfect, but it is by FAR the best thing going!:cheers
Wo!
This thread has gotten way too political for this site.
There are forums in here, where you can 'vent' if you want, but this kind of stuff should be argued at sites like www.arguewitheveryone.com. These forums never really resolve anything, they only serve as a place to blow off steam. My last post in this thread was just that, blowing off steam.
Watching this special report from Keith Olbermann pissed me off. There is a lot in there that I feel is true and deserves investigating. I would, however, love to take the time to point out just how many false statements are also made in this report. Unfortunately, like I said, it's way too political for this site and besides, I'm not sure if I could ever finish writing about all the different truths and lies contained in this one article.
I used to pride myself in being able to 'see' both sides of the news and to try not to form an opinion until I was aware of ALL the facts. Facts, pfsssst. Personally, I'm have no idea what, or who to believe these days. People just hop on the media of choice and are allowed to say whatever they want. I mean ANYTHING and they are never held accountable for it when it turns out to be false. I could give hundreds of examples of this coming from both sides of the fence and from every news agency. Hell, reading a news paper the last few years, has become a total waste of time. I can't even enjoy the comic stips anymore, because they too have become way to political.
I see my own country coming apart at the seams and it scares the hell out of me. Political correctness, Lying, and bashing each other is accomplishing nothing. We HAVE to begin to pull together, or our children are in the deepest of shit.
I also see a long, very serious war ahead of us and if we don't realise that and get our act together as a country, we will all be kneeling in rows and praying five times a day.................. at gun point.

I agree, and that is one reason I put it in the Open discussion forum, to remember 9-11 by bashing other political interests is wrong, but where does it stop??? It is so hard today to believe anybody, especially the news, all of it so real time, put together in a neat package on the internet, visible with cell phone cameras in seconds brought to you by some detached bimbo in a news studio with their own opinion attached...we should all maintain an attitude of being open to other American political ideals, or bi-partisian as it were, as both sides have basically good and bad ideas about the direction our country is headed. Basically, we all should try understanding other political tennants in our great country, so as not to become like the idiotic, so called meat grinder theocracies and dictatorships in Africa, the Middle East, Central America, Asia, and old Europe. Lets all just remember what we have lost, and try to friggin' fix it, because I would rather die standing than to live my life on my knees... and I might just get my wish the way shit is going. Where the hell in Bin Laden?

I still love ya pops...ya big bix block lug. No need for anybody to say excuse me, we're all right, and we all feel so much anger and confusion over all this stuff. It was so much easier when we were kids, I wish it would all be like it was before 9-11, but sadly, it's just not to be so. It is such a pain in the ass to just take a flight nowadays, the whole experience used to be an enjoyment...now, all I can do is look around and wonder which jerk is gonna try to blow up the plane...I actually try to "scan" the other travellers myself. Scary, huh?
I think what you said was dead on...
"I haven't seen any evidence of bi-partisan-ism being inspired by 9/11. Just words, not deeds. It is hard not to be jaded by the media coverage of world events, especially when you have seen stuff with your own eyes and then seen how it was represented in the media. Amen and pass the biscuits to you Pops.
excuse me.
Pops,
Nothing I've ever written has been directed at you. (except a couple digs)
In fact, I would truely enjoy working with you again.
I was frustrated that some folks think that the government is responsible to rebuild the WTC site, which is a private owned commercial venture.
The owners of that site have received just over $4.2 billion in comp. It's up to them to rebuild, or at least decide WHAT they are going to build in order to know what can be done about a memorial and where it can be placed.
These same folks think that the government should also rebuild all those uninsured homes, that were so ingeniously built below sea level in New Orleans. We don't build homes in flood plains in the midwest.
If a tornado came and wiped out my house and I didn't have insurance to cover it, should the government be expected to replace it?
Frustrated and worried here.
WR and Natch, now I got a warm fuzzy feeling, but I was okay before. Would like to work with both of you again, I have definitely learned from both of you guys. I don't know if you noticed it, but there was some jealousy directed at you both. You intimidated the little guy who was supposed to be IC. But not me, I am secure in my masculinity.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha:cheers :cheers :cheers
