View Full Version : Is RPI a place for Protective Security positions?
Just wanted to run this by the administration before I wasted my money. Is this a place to find contract protective security jobs or the like? Even a place to network in those realms? Im not talking about the Triple Canopys and the Blackwaters but interesting and unique roles outside of Iraq and Afghanistan. I have 5 yrs in SF including two tours of Iraq and one in Kosovo. This info may help other guys like myself too. Cheers.

If you are talking about CST/CAG positions, MAYBE, if you are talking about personal protection, I doubt it. More along the lines of Construction work.
Please excuse my ignorance but what do the acronyms CST and CAG stand for? The only CAG I know operate out of North Carolina and I'm sure you're not talking about the same guys. Cheers.

I Think, although I may be wrong...
CST
Construction surveilance technician..basically a look-stand watcher, ensuring compromised material or actions do not happen in the overseas/homeland U.S. Dept of State, and various govt. building workplaces. They escort, and watch the foriegn local employment tradespeople. Lots of these guys were once tradesmen, some not, but mostly all former millitary, and a lot of guys retired. Not a bad job for an active older guy that wants to keep busy, or in-between jobs for the younger guys...although some have made carreers out of it.
CAG
Cleared American Guard...controls the flow, and access of cleared foriegn personel working on U.S. Govt. projects overseas, and classified document distribution and classified materials in this environment. Although in serious threat countries, where espionage risks are high, they will patrol the American only access areas to ensure proper control of classified documents and classified procedures. Most former military, not too many tradesmen.
Thanks guys! If anyone hears or knows about personal security positons particularly requiring cleared Special Ops guys, post 'em here or the correct forum - just let me know. Networking is key and it looks like PRI has the right ingredients. Some guys may be working for companies who are looking for qualified "guns". Once again, jobs outside of Iraq and Afghanistan sound more interesting to me. I will be in Nepal for the month September doing some fun stuff and will look at suitable opportunities after that time.
Wild Rover, Head Rat, perhaps you want to start a new forum for jobs of this nature. I found this site through another similar site and found there was much more interaction going on. Current, relevant info is important. Cheers guys!:cheers

Thanks for you input, but the only reason I don't have anything like that on the site is because I do not have many contacts or knowledge in that area. You are more than welcome to possibly become our guy for that, but honestly, I don't know all that much about "hired guns".
Can you email me the "other sites" web address?
I've got no problem mentioning the site. It has its share of good info. Dangerzonejobs.com is the site. I am plugged in to a good community of guys offline and if you wanted to start a forum I could share what I come across. Other "plugged-in" guys could share, too, as things progress. If I came across this site, I'm sure others like me are too. Cheers.:cheers

Actually, I've been to that site. It is, ok, I guess. Seemed to have a lot of standard submit resume email addresses for contacts though.

Yeah, having to pay $45 or whatever to see what I saw, kind of pissed me off, I wasn't to impressed.
It's basically just a site with links to companies and is a good resource if you've never heard of the companies. Has anyone out there worked for or heard anything about Gettier? A buddy of mine was looking at working for them before he took another contract. Last I heard they were looking for guys with multiple concealed carry permits and military or LE experience. Their work is stateside as far as I know. Cheers.:cheers
I got my refund as promised.

No, that's cool, and I'm sure it is resourceful for people in that line of work, just needs some edges "buffed out".
Now this Gettier, you're talking about, probably not here. I mean, there might be there are some people in your same line of work on here, but not that many that I know of.
Best of luck to ya.
