It is just an office hand in Beijing, I'm not to concerned with it, but I know they don't like the RATS holding out for more money. :cheers

If they had a half decent package, this would be a nonissue and they would be able to get and keep good tradesmen. Fuck those bottom feeders

Guy's they are the same every where they are. Their projects in the states suck the hind teat.

Between them and a couple more, they are working very hard to drive wages down even more.

Before much longer I am afraid the embassy jobs will be built by all non american workers. I keep remembering I was told awhile back, that soon there will be no more cleared expats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is sometimes difficult to comprend how our us contractors think, we all are americans working on american embassy's in forgein countries. It seems as if we could strike a little better agreement, if we demand higher wages we are just greedly, ungrateful, low lifes. If a contractor gets a contract and makes a mil windfall profit they are very smart businessmen. We make a 100 extra and we are greedy & un grateful.:wtf

If my employer is treating me like a human being and I am getting a fair wage, I try to help him be rich and successful.

As long as there are contractors and workers, there will be friction, I try to get all I can for the service I provide, if they are not willing to get in bed with me then I do not need them either.

Take Care

They get what they pay forMy sentiments exactly, other contractors should be taking note of this situation. Wages Vs. Skill level.

It's just another excuse or justification for low wages... more "hands" and "helpers" on site equals more gets done. At least that's the mentality. They are famous for flooding the project with unskilled labor,(like a radio operator in the air force is now an electrical helper) and warm bodies that posess clearances...expecting the few skilled tradesmen they do manage to hire, to carry the project and to train the unskilled. It will never change...

Good reply Mex. I can't really say anything negative about Zachry, they were my first (and only) embassy job. Although most, if not all from what I have been told, outsource the telecom wiring. Zachry had decided to use in-house for the one I was on.

Some issues dealt with some slugs they brought over to help out with the telecom, who drug up.

They gave me a contract for a decent wage (I can only assume), they paid me on time and in full. Although I do question about the per diem's etc.

Of course there were times when heads butted :sport002: But over all it was a good experience.
